Q: What does “POG” stand for?
A: POG stands for Passion Orange Guava, the three fruits that make up the drink called POG.
Q: Where can I get the POG trilogy on DVD?
A: Inexplicably, neither POG video has been released on DVD at this time.
Q: Well then where can I buy the Laserdisc?
A: There isn’t even a Laserdisc! If you want to see the POG Trilogy you’ll have to track down one of the original VHS tapes or find a theater that is playing it in your area. Prices for the VHS on eBay currently range from $3.50 to $20 for Searching, and $25+ for Legend.
Q: Why do you keep calling it the POG trilogy when there are only two videos?
A: The reason is twofold: 1) Contrary to popular usage, the word “trilogy” merely refers to a series of epic scope. Milton’s Paradise Lost, for instance, is a trilogy. And, 2) Some of us still entertain a hope of a third video being released sometime in the future.
Q: My friend says that in the widescreen version of Legend you can see Judy’s vagina in the “trans-dimensional fetch” scene. Is he full of it?
A: As far as the maintainers of this site know, no widescreen version of either video exists. Furthermore, at no time during that scene is Judy situated in such a way that her vagina would be cut from the frame during the “pan and scan” process. As for your friend… no comment! :)
Q: In the credits for Searching, Candy Smedley is listed as being played by Janet Robinson, but in Legend, she is played by Janet Boggs. Did the original Janet die in the falling scene?
A: No—as far as we know, no one was killed during the taping of either video (the falling sequence was done using dummies; if you pay close attention, you can see the cut between them and the actors). Believe it or not, the “two” Janets are really the same person! Janet & Judy’s are twin sisters, and their birth name is Robinson. But when they got married, they changed their names (Janet to Boggs, and Judy to Brock). The confusion arises due to the fact that Janet changed her name in the time between the two videos!
